Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this site, on a phone or on a computer, with or without good reading skills.

What we aim for

The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we did

  • Short sentences and plain words.
  • Clear text: 17 pixels on a phone and 18 pixels on a computer. No text is smaller than 16 pixels.
  • Text and background colours with enough contrast, measured for every colour the site uses.
  • Links in the text are underlined.
  • Every exercise has pictures that show how, next to the words of the steps.
  • Each infographic is also written out in words under the picture.
  • Every module can be listened to, whole or part by part. The audio guides have their words written out next to the player.
  • The videos have captions. Their words are also written out under the player, and the voice says every move, so you can follow without watching.
  • The PDFs are tagged, so screen readers can read them.
  • Questions about a feeling or how hard something is have three answers, each with a simple picture.
  • The forms need no account, and your answers stay on your device unless you choose to send the feedback form by email.
  • You can use the menus and the forms with a keyboard.
  • Display settings (the “Aa” button at the top of every page) make the text larger, raise the contrast or add space between lines. Your choice is kept on your device.

How we checked

On 25 October 2026 we checked every page with the automated tool axe, at the width of a phone and of a computer, with the normal display and with the largest text, high contrast and wide spacing together. We also used the menus, the display settings and the forms with a keyboard.

Known limits

The site is in English, Turkish, Polish, Ukrainian and Norwegian. Some parts are only in English, for example the EU funding statement and disclaimer, the project’s official title, the Open Government Licence statement and most of the source list.

Tell us about a problem
